The SFJ qualification provides you with formal recognition of the competence to work as an approved fire safety assessor and equips you with the tools and knowledge to complete a fire risk assessment.
The qualification supports the outcomes and recommendations contained in ‘Raising the Bar: Improving competence, building a safer future’ - published in the wake of the Grenfell Tower tragedy.
Each candidate is required to produce an online portfolio of evidence which demonstrates their achievement of all the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each of the units detailed below. It is recommended that learners attend both taught weeks as these provide valuable input and contain a number of tasks that provide evidence towards the qualification:
The Level 4 Diploma in Fire Safety (Fire Inspectors) qualification covers reviewing fire protection systems and fire safety matters and assessing risks associated with fire.
Mandatory Units:
• Ensure measures are in place to protect people from fire in complex premises and environments Assess risks associated with fire in complex premises and environments
• Review fire safety matters relating to existing or proposed construction
• Review fire protection systems in complex premises and environments
• Review safety measures at locations that are regulated and/or licensed
• Visit complex premises and environments for the purposes of fire safety regulation

• Review fire safety matters relating to premises under construction, demolition and alteration
